STAGE 1 - before the qualification procedure

Making recruitment applications in the Online Application System (IRK), entering diploma grades, uploading scans of documents and paying admission fees

from 3 June 2024 from 12 p.m.

until 16 June 2024 until 11:59 p.m.
The last day of booking the admission fees paid by candidates on the last day of registration in the system 21 June

Entry exams  ETAP I

• Złożenie teczki z pracami własnymi do 16 CZERWCA.

1) Student ma do wyboru:
- Treatment filmu fabularnego nie dłuższy niż 3 strony + jedna scena dialogowa (dotycząca tego projektu) również nie dłuższa niż 3 strony. Ma być to oryginalny projekt (nie adaptacja), akcja ma rozgrywać się współcześnie.
lub
- Scenariusz filmu fabularnego (max. 30 min i 25 stron)

2) Treatment filmu dokumentalnego pt. „Dobry człowiek” lub „Zły człowiek” - nie dłuższy niż 1 strona. Proszę wybrać jeden z dwóch tematów.
3) Film (max. 1 min) prezentujący sylwetkę kandydata, z uzasadnieniem dlaczego zamierza studiować reżyserię w Szkole Filmowej im. K. Kieślowskiego w Katowicach. Autoprezentacja będzie oceniana w każdym aspekcie (pomysł, forma oraz treść).
4) Seria 10 fotografii, które będą opisywać to jak kandydat widzi otaczający go świat.
5) Seria od 5 do 10 zdjęć pt. „Piękne życie”.
6) Inne dowolne prace własne (film – max. 10 min., literatura, sztuki plastyczne).

Uwaga. Komisja nie zwraca egzemplarzy prac własnych pisemnych. 

Warunki techniczne przesyłanych plików do systemu IRK.

Prace literackie (pliki tekstowe): TYLKO I WYŁĄCZNIE! format PDF, wielkość stron ustawiona na format A4. Formaty inne niż PDF nie będą przyjmowane!

Prace fotograficzne (pliki graficzne): TYLKO I WYŁĄCZNIE! format JPG.

Rozdzielczość pracy: FORMAT POZIOMY - maksymalnie 2000 pikseli na szerokość (wysokość uzależniona od proporcji fotografii); FORMAT PIONOWY – maksymalnie 1500 pikseli na wysokość (szerokość uzależniona od proporcji).

Formaty inne niż JPG nie będą przyjmowane!

Prace filmowe (pliki wideo): 

- Linki do filmów umieszczonych na serwisach streamingowych (Youtube, Vimeo, itp.) zapisane w dokumencie typu PDF lub TXT (wraz z danymi dostępowymi do filmów typu hasło / użytkownik) lub 

- Pliki wideo MP4 lub MOV z kodekiem H.264 w rozdzielczości 1920x1080 pikseli lub 1280x720 pikseli (parametry -  kodek H.264, bitrate maksymalny 10mbps, dźwięk Stereo AAC).

Pojedynczy przesłany plik wideo nie może być większy niż 900MB – łączna ilość przesłanych dodatkowych plików nie może przekroczyć pojemności 2GB (2048MB).

26-29.06.2024 (środa, czwartek, piątek, sobota) od godz. 09:00 (w tym 1h przerwy)

Egzamin ustny: Obrona prac własnych (teczka) oraz rozmowa związana z kontekstem i świadomością sztuki filmowej.

Po zakończeniu etapu pierwszego Komisja Egzaminacyjna ogłosi wyniki i podejmie decyzję o zakwalifikowaniu się kandydatów do drugiego etapu egzaminów wstępnych.

1.07.2024 (poniedziałek) od godz. 10:00

Egzamin pisemny: zadanie analityczno – scenariopisarskie (proszę pisać długopisem i pamiętać, że prace muszą być czytelne dla komisji)

2.07.2024 (wtorek) od godz. 10:00

Egzamin praktyczny: zadanie plastyczne – inscenizacyjne

3.07.2024 (środa) od godz. 10:00

Egzamin praktyczny: ciąg montażowy ze zdjęć fotograficznych

Po zakończeniu etapu drugiego Komisja Egzaminacyjna ogłosi wyniki i podejmie decyzję o zakwalifikowaniu się kandydatów do trzeciego etapu egzaminów wstępnych.

                                                                                                     ETAP III

4.07.2024 (czwartek) od godz. 10:00 do godz. 15:00

Zadanie dokumentalne – fotoreportaż w plenerze. (o godzinie 15:00 wszyscy kandydaci muszą wrócić do budynku Szkoły Filmowej im. K. Kieślowskiego z wykonanym zadaniem. Godzina ta jest nieprzekraczalna)

5.07.2024 (piątek) od godz. 9:00

Zadanie inscenizacyjne w studio filmowym.

6.07.2024 (sobota) od godz. 10:00

Rozmowa kwalifikacyjna. Obrona zadania dokumentalnego i inscenizacji.

Admissions criteria

For candidates with the new and the old MATURA:

Stage 1

  • Submitting a portfolio of own work:
  1. The student shall have a choice:
  • A treatment of a feature film no longer than 3 pages + one dialogue scene (for this project) also no longer than 3 pages. It is to be an original project (not an adaptation); the action is to take place today.

        or

  • A screenplay for a feature film (max. 30 min. and 25 pages)
  1. A treatment for a documentary whose subject shall be indicated in the IRK2 system
  2. A film (max. 1 min) presenting the candidate with reasons why they intend to study directing at the Krzysztof Kieślowski Film School in Katowice. Self-presentation will be evaluated in every aspect (idea, form and content).
  3. A series of 10 photographs that will describe how the candidate sees the world around them.
  4. A series of 5 to 10 photos under a specific title, which will be indicated in the admission criteria for a given academic year.
  5. Other own works (film – max. 10 min., literature, art).

Note. The Committee shall not return copies of personal written work. The attached film works should be submitted as a LINK to the film page (the films can be posted on one of the free portals, e.g., YouTube, Vimeo, etc.).

  • Oral exam: Defence of own works (portfolio) and interview related to the context and awareness of film art.

Stage 2

  •  Practical exam: montage sequence of photographs
  • Practical exam: visual – staging task.
  • Written exam: analytical – script-writing task.

Stage 3

  •  Documentary task – photojournalism in the outdoors.
  • Staging task in the film studio.
  • Interview. Defence of documentary and staging tasks.

 The individual tasks at each stage shall be evaluated with points.

In stage one:

Defence of own works (portfolio) and interview: max. 75 pts.

Those who score a minimum of 38 points will proceed to stage two.

In stage two:

 Practical task – montage sequence: max. 25 pts.

Written exam: analytical – script-writing task: max. 25 pts.

Practical exam: visual – staging task: max. 25 pts.

The 18 people with the highest number of points shall proceed to stage three, with the points from stages one and two added together.

If more than 18 candidates obtain the same number of points, all candidates with the same score will proceed to stage three.

In stage three:

Documentary task – photojournalism: max. 25 pts.

Staging task: max. 25 pts.

Interview. Defence of documentary and staging tasks: max. 50 pts.

The 8 students with the highest scores and a positive maturity exam will be admitted to the study programme.
