Admissions criteria

Students who have received a Bachelor's, Engineer’s, Master's or equivalent degree in a study programme assigned to a field of exact and natural sciences or one assigned to a field of engineering and technology may apply for admission.

The qualification criterion shall be a competition of final grades on the graduation diplomas.

Qualification for studies shall be determined by the place on the ranking list created based on the candidate score (CS) calculated according to the formula below.

Method of calculating points (candidate score):

CS = 2 * D + O

where:

  • CS – candidate score,
  • D – a grade on the diploma of completion of a study programme assigned to a discipline of mathematics (D = 0 when the candidate has not completed a study programme assigned to a discipline of mathematics),
  • O – a grade on the diploma of completion of a study programme assigned to a field of exact and natural sciences other than mathematics or one assigned to a field of engineering and technology (O = 0 when the candidate has not completed a study programme assigned to a field of exact and natural sciences or one assigned to a field of engineering and technology),

If the number of candidates does not exceed the agreed admission limit, all candidates whose result is greater than 0 shall be admitted.

In the case of graduates of other study programmes than those mentioned above or graduates from other universities, if the analysis of the 1st cycle studies reveals differences in the study programme and/or learning outcomes, the student shall be obliged to do remedial (paid) classes within the deadline set by the Dean of the Faculty.

Candidates who intend to choose Mathematics: Teacher Training Programme with Computer Science must be graduates of the teacher training programme in the 1st cycle study programme in mathematics, which prepares for teaching two subjects: mathematics and computer science (in the second educational stage – primary school).

Candidates who intend to choose Mathematics: Teacher Training Programme with Chemistry must be graduates of the teacher training programme in the 1st cycle study programme in mathematics, which prepares for teaching two subjects: mathematics and chemistry (in the second educational stage – primary school).

Candidates who intend to choose Mathematics: Teacher Training Programme must be graduates of the teacher training programme in the 1st cycle study programme in mathematics, which prepares for teaching mathematics (in the second educational stage – primary school).

In the case of persons admitted for the 2nd cycle studies with a teacher training programme with a documented partial pedagogical preparation (in line with the ministerial guidelines for training in preparation for the teaching profession – cf. Regulation of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of 25 July 2019, i.e., Journal of Laws of 2021, item 890), a verification of this preparation (the modules passed, learning outcomes, ECTS points and the number of hours completed) shall be conducted to eliminate or complete the differences in curricula. These differences may result from a different acceptable order of implementation of teacher learning outcomes for a given study programme in other higher education institutions.
If a student has to p
articipate in compensatory activities, the student shall be obliged to pay a fee which shall be determined based on separate provisions.
