Admissions criteria

Students who have received an Engineer’s, Master's or equivalent degree in a study programme assigned to a field of exact and natural sciences or one assigned to a field of engineering and technology may apply for admission.

The qualification criterion shall be a competition of final grades on the graduation diplomas.

Graduates who have completed this course at the University of Silesia shall have the grade on the diploma multiplied by the conversion factor of 1.5.

Qualification for studies shall be determined by the place on the ranking list created based on the candidate score (CS) calculated according to the formula below.

Method of calculating points (candidate score):

CS = 2 * D + O

where:

§  CS – candidate score,

§  D – a grade on the diploma of completion of a study programme assigned to a discipline of physical sciences (D = 0 when the candidate has not completed a study programme assigned to a discipline of physical science),

§  O – a grade on the diploma of completion of a study programme assigned to a field of exact and natural sciences other than physical sciences or one assigned to a field of engineering and technology (O = 0 when the candidate has not completed a study programme assigned to a field of exact and natural sciences and one assigned to a field of engineering and technology),

In the case of graduates of other study programmes than those mentioned above or graduates from other universities, if the analysis of the 1st cycle studies reveals differences in the study programme and/or learning outcomes, the student shall be obliged to do remedial (paid) classes within the deadline set by the Dean of the Faculty.

A study candidate is obliged to submit a relevant medical certificate confirming the lack of medical contraindications to take up studies in this degree programme.
