Admissions criteria

Based on an admission procedure, persons with a bachelor's, engineer’s, master's degree or equivalent (i.e. recognised with a Polish diploma in the case of completion of studies abroad) obtained in a study programme of geography or related disciplines shall be admitted to the study programme within the limit of places.

Admission criterion: admission for studies shall be determined by the place on the ranking list created based on the sum obtained from the final grade on the diploma and grade point average.

In the case of graduates of other study programmes than those mentioned above or graduates from other universities, if the analysis of the 1st cycle studies reveals differences in the study programme and/or learning outcomes, the student shall be obliged to do remedial (paid) classes within the deadline set by the Dean of the Faculty.

In the case of persons admitted for the 2nd cycle studies with a teacher training programme with a documented partial pedagogical preparation (in line with the ministerial guidelines for training in preparation for the teaching profession – cf. Regulation of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of 25 July 2019, i.e., Journal of Laws of 2021, item 890), a verification of this preparation (the modules passed, learning outcomes, ECTS points and the number of hours completed) shall be conducted to eliminate or complete the differences in curricula. These differences may be due to the different permissible order of delivery of the teaching-learning outcomes for a particular course of study in other higher education institutions. If a student has to participate in compensatory activities, the student shall be obliged to pay a fee which shall be determined based on separate provisions.

The candidate shall be required to submit an appropriate medical certificate for the absence of a medical contraindication to study this study programme

Based on an admission procedure, persons with a bachelor's, engineer’s, master's degree or equivalent (i.e. recognised with a Polish diploma in the case of completion of studies abroad) obtained in a study programme of geography or related disciplines shall be admitted to the study programme within the limit of places.

In the case of graduates of other study programmes than geography, the decision on admission to the recruitment procedure shall be made by the examination committee based on the analysis of the curriculum and the obtained learning outcomes of the completed studies.

Admission for studies shall be a two-stage process.

Stage 1:

Submission to a Faculty Admission Committee (Polish acronym WKR) a language knowledge of at least B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

In the absence of documents confirming language skills of at least B2, the applicant's language skills will be checked during the interview to check the level of language skills.

The interview shall be scored on a scale of 0 to 20 points. A positive result from the interview shall be a minimum score of 10 points.

The receipt by the candidate of fewer than 10 points or the absence in the test shall disqualify the candidate from the entire admission procedure.

Stage 2:

Candidates admitted to stage two shall be qualified based on the sum obtained from the final grade on the diploma and grade point average (according to the place on the ranking list).

The candidate shall be required to submit an appropriate medical certificate for the absence of a medical contraindication to study this study programme.
