Registration criteria

Requirements to enter qualification procedure

To enter the qualification procedure, each candidate must:

  1. Create a personal account in irk2.us.edu.pl and fill a form containing relevant declarations and consents, information about the scientific discipline or disciplines, ORCID number
  2. Submitting through irk2.us.edu.pl the following documents and information: 
    • an authorized copy of master’s degree along with the supplement
    • curriculum vitae;
    • the research proposal with the form
    • the list of the scientific achievements and documents certifying the achievements
    • other documents specified in the recruitment criteria should be submitted to the IEDS, via polarknow@us.edu.pl within the recruitment schedule
  3. Pay the admission fee of 400,00 PLN.

Requirements to admission

Recruitment will be conducted in accordance with the requirements of the Regulations on awarding NCN scholarships in research projects financed by the National Science Center, introduced by the resolution of the Council of the National Science Center No. 25/2019 of 14 March 2019, and in accordance with the rules applicable in this entity. The recruitment committee shall evaluate the candidates’ research achievements, their research-related achievements, and competencies as regards specific tasks in the research project, expressed as a point score:e:

1. The candidate’s research achievements, including publications in prestigious academic press and scientific reports/journals (50% of the final score):

    • 4 points – outstanding;
    • 3 points – very good;
    • 2 points – good;
    • 1 points – poor;
    • 0 points – no scientific achievements.

2. Research-related achievements, scholarships, awards and research experience gained in Poland or abroad, research workshops and training courses, participation in research projects (20% of the final score):

Scholarship

The amount of the stipend is 5000 PLN gross for the first 42 months of training in the doctoral school will be financed from the funds for the project 2023/50/E/ST10/00432 entitled Improving the palaeoseismological record by multi-method analysis of cave deformation tested in different Hellenid tectonic regimes, directed by Dr. Jacek Szczygiel, Prof. UŚ, and consists of a doctoral stipend in accordance with Art. 209 of the Law on Higher Education and Science of 20 July 2018 and a research stipend.

In the remaining 6 months of training at the doctoral school, a doctoral student without a doctoral degree shall receive a doctoral scholarship in accordance with Art. 209 of the Act of 20 July 2018. Law on Higher Education and Science.
